Ralph's World

We went to see Ralph's World for the second time, at a much different venue than Joe's Pub. I was a little worried about the gig at McCarter, because it's an 1100 seat theater, whereas Joe's Pub seats about 160 people. But we had pretty good seats, 4th row right orchestra.

The concert was a blast; very tight performances from Ralph, Tommy O'Brien, Mike, and the drummer who's name I can't remember (he reminded me of Weezer's drummer). Brian Sheridan, the usual bassist, couldn't make it to this gig. The sound seemed a little off; it was hard to hear the guitars sometimes. I brought along 2 ribbon wands (red and green), to wave around during "All My Colors." Just like on the Say Hello DVD. Very dorky, I know, but we were the envy of all the kids around us, LOL.

Here's DH holding DS and waving at the crowd, at the end of the show when Ralph invites kids up to the stage.

I was pretty surprised he did that at this performance, since McCarter is so much bigger than Joe's Pub. Note DS's "homemade" concert shirt. It's the At the Bottom of the Sea T-shirt, modified to read "Joe's Pub NYC 02.06.2005" on the back--because you have to wear an actual concert shirt to be cool, right?

Ralph Covert, DS, and I after the show. Yes, I'm wearing the same jacket that I wore to the Joe's Pub show. I love how Ralph makes time to sign autographs and pose for pictures after his shows.

Santa Closet's coming to town!

My 27 month-old's versions of some Christmas carols:
Oh, you better watch out; you better not cry
You better not pout; I tell you why
Santa closet's coming to town.

Rudolph with nose so bite
Won't you guide my sleighing song tonight?

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corn pipe and a Bapa Dan nose
And two eyes made of coal.

Gotta love those toddlerisms!
